Connecting people with
knowledge, community, and capital to build businesses where they live and work.
Business owners, advisors, investors, and community members across the Hudson Valley, working together to strengthen the small business economy of this region.
WHAT WE DO
The resources exist. We connect them.
Across the Hudson Valley, the region's advisors, lenders, chambers, community organizations, and academic partners already strengthen the region's small-business economy. Greater Hudson Valley is the connective infrastructure that ties them together, focused on two areas where depth adds value: connecting business owners to the advisors they need, when they need them, and moving local capital into local businesses.
We recruit the network of advisors and mentors, match business owners to them through double-opt-in connections, and create more ways for wealth built in this region to stay and grow here.
“Business is a force for human flourishing.”
KNOWLEDGE
What it takes to build well.
Trusted advisors and mentors. Practical guidance. The kind of counsel that comes from someone who has done the work and knows the region.
COMMUNITY
People show up for each other.
The network of business owners, advisors, and partners who know one another, refer to one another, and treat each other's success as shared work.
CAPITAL
Capital that knows this place.
Community lenders and investors who understand small business in this region, and more ways for wealth built here to stay here.
Business owner, community, region.
When a business owner succeeds, the effects reach further. A household finds steadier ground. A community gains more life. A region keeps more of the wealth built here.
Greater Hudson Valley measures success at all three levels.
The business owner
Steadier operations, better decisions, ready to grow.
The community
More jobs, more suppliers close by, more life on Main Street.
The region
More of the wealth built here staying here.
Different roles. Shared purpose.

WHY THIS, WHY NOW
Trust is the infrastructure.
The region's support system for small business runs on trust. It is what makes an advisor pick up the phone, what makes a business owner ask a hard question early, and what moves capital toward the businesses ready for it.
Greater Hudson Valley builds and protects that trust. We vet who joins the network. We measure the value of the connections we make.
The coalition is forming.

How is Greater Hudson Valley different from a chamber of commerce?
Chambers of commerce are local civic institutions built around individual counties, cities, or towns. Greater Hudson Valley is regional infrastructure that extends what any one chamber can offer. We build the advisor network at regional scale, cross county lines, and open capital access pathways. Chambers and Greater Hudson Valley operate at different scales, and we route members to their local chamber for resources we don't provide.
How do you work with anchor partners like HVEDC and the Hudson Valley Venture Hub?
Anchor partners are institutional coalition members whose work is central to the region's small business economy. HVEDC serves larger businesses and regional economic development. We refer to one another, co-convene where it makes sense, and stay in coordination on shared priorities.
